Route Description

To the Second Highest peak of the Aberdares, Its a 2-day challenge test of mind over matter…Are you up to it… Come refine your spirit, the flow..come experience the spirit of the mountain redefined…We start at Njabini Forest Gate, through the elephant trail in the cool and enchanting bamboo forest exiting the forest at point Despair

We continue with our quest through the transition from the rainforest to the moorland through this part of forest covered in light green soft moss.. its fun to touch and feel..its a steep ascent sometimes you may miss seeing this beauty..we push on the collarbone of the elephant and from there for the first time since despair we can see the elephant hill peak..

We continue to the peak if we so wish and take in the views and the breeze soon we drop back to the neck to drop into the valley to our campsite for the overnight. The path down a steep descent as branch out slightly above eye level we can see the twin peaks of Kinangop depicting a gate covered in mist..its a sight to die for

We set up our camp in the valley for our overnight stay.
Day 2.
We start off at 6am heading for the peak, it relatively gentle trek through the moorland, it will take about two hours to the peak.
We high five each and enjoy the scenic Aberdares its code in front of your eyes at 360 degrees.. as far as mt. Kenya behind from where you have come is the magnificent elephant hill.. from this point Aberdares is a hikers eye candy.. you cannot get enough.

We start our journey back to the camp, we take breakfast and head for Njabini forest Gate.

What to wear and items to carry;
Comfortable Waterproof hiking boot
Wear hiking pants (avoid jeans) carry an extra change
Rain trouser
Fleece jacket
Polyester T-shirt (like the football jerseys) carry an extra one for day2
Carry an extra change of clothes for after the hike/camp
Poncho or a light Rain Jacket
Head Torch
A change of clothes after the hike and for your travel back to Nairobi
Sleeping bag
Drinking water (3litres)
Sunscreen (Arimis oK)
Heavy snack or picnic Lunch
Energy Bars
Avoid unnecessary Items
Finally, carry loads of fun with you and tag along with a friend!!
Adults- KES. 6,850 per person, $94.5 for residents and non- residents $135

• Park Entry & Camping fee
• Armed Ranger Fee
• Guide fee
• Tents and sleeping mat
• 3 meals Lunch breakfast and Dinner (not necessarily in that order)
• 3 Litres of water (water for day 2 will be provided)
Book your space by sending a non-refundable booking fee of KES. 4,000/- via Lipa na Mpesa Till no. 751447 by 25th January 2018 and the balance by 2nd February 2018.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel more than 48 hours before your scheduled trip departure, a 30% of the fee will be charged.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled trip departure, no refund fees will be provided.
No shows are responsible for 100% of trip fees.
