Join us as we head North this March to the magical Samburuland, setting our eyes on the majestic Mt. Ololokwe. Her beauty is undeniable, calling you from the highway, and if you’ve ever passed by, you’ve likely made a mental note to return and experience her charm. Well, the time has come! We embark on a thrilling hike starting at Sabache Camp, aiming for the summit of this flat-topped mountain (2000M ASL). The view from the top, showcasing the beauty of the Mathews ranges and the inviting Nkadoru Murto rock formations, is out of this world. A sunrise from here creates moments of pure connection with self and nature.
Trail Details:
- The trail will follow elephant and cattle tracks, rocky and covered in acacia shrubs.
- Total ascent: Approximately 1000M.
- Trail difficulty: Rated moderate.
- Duration: 3-4 hours.

Itinerary
Day 1
5:00 am – Leave Nairobi for Archers Post. Begin our journey northward, anticipating the adventure ahead.
8:00 am – Bathroom break and a cup of coffee to fuel our spirits.
11:00 am – Nanyuki Stop-over. Early lunch in Nanyuki as we continue our scenic drive.
1:30 pm – Arrival at Sabache Camp.Settle into the camp and soak in the surroundings.
2:30 pm- Relax, connect with fellow adventurers, and prepare for the hike.
5:30 pm – Explore the trail around the camp, taking in excellent views over the boulders.
6:30 pm – Enjoy snacks as we witness the beautiful sunset.
7:30 pm – Share stories and laughter over a delightful dinner, continuing into the night.
Day 2:
4:30 am – Early morning adventure for the sunrise chasers.
7:30 am – Reach the peak and bask in the breathtaking views.
8:30 am – Start our descent before the sun becomes too intense.
10:30 am – Arrive back at the camp, freshen up, and get ready for lunch.
12:30 pm – Enjoy a hearty lunch and prepare to leave for Nairobi.
1:30 pm – Bid farewell to the magical Mt. Ololokwe and head back to Nairobi.
7:00 pm – Expected Arrival in Nairobi
