The Aberdare Range, also known as the Nyandarua Range, is a prominent mountain range in central Kenya, East Africa. The name “Nyandarua” is of Kikuyu origin, one of the ethnic groups in Kenya. In the Kikuyu language, “Nyandarua” means a drying hide. The name is derived from the shape and appearance of the range, which is said to resemble a stretched-out animal hide laid out to dry.
