Everest Basecamp Trek via Gokyo 9th -23rd October 2024
Everest Basecamp + Lobuche East Peak (6119m)/ Island Peak (6189m Asl) – Each year since 2017 we have put together some exciting itineraries to the Himalayas.. Everest Basecamp Trek , Annapurna Circuit, The Lost Valley near the Tibetan border .. This coming year 7th- 27th April 2023 we return to the Everest region. Join this amazing trek as you live the magic of the world highest peaks.. and also attempt Lobuche Peak an iconic outcrop in Khumbu Valley resting at 6,119M asl. From the summit you have breath taking views of the Everest and the whole region!!
Day 1: Depart Nairobi
Day 2: Welcome to Kathmandu
Accommodation: Hotel
On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel located in the vibrant Thamel area. Spend the afternoon exploring the unique shops, restaurants, and bars.
Day 3: Kathmandu City – Shopping & City Tour
Explore the city or opt for a guided tour to iconic places like The Boudhanath and The Monkey Temple. Immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Kathmandu Valley.
Day 4: Kathmandu to Lukla (Flight) to Phakding
Flight time: 35 to 40 minutes
Trek time: 3 to 4 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Embark on a thrilling flight to Lukla, your gateway to the Everest Region. Trek to Phakding, passing through picturesque landscapes and experiencing the local culture.
Day 5: Phakding to Namche
Trek time: 5 to 6 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Traverse forests, traditional villages, and yak pastures on your way to Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village in the Khumbu Region.
Day 6: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazar
Trek time: 5 to 6 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Take a day to acclimatize, explore the area, and visit the school set up by Sir Edmund Hillary. Marvel at the stunning views of surrounding peaks, including Mount Everest.
Day 7: Namche to Tengboche
Trek time: 5 to 6 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Capture breathtaking views of Buddhist shrines, prayer flags, and Tengboche Monastery as you ascend to Tengboche. Enjoy panoramic vistas along the way.
Day 8: Tengboche to Dingboche
Trek time: 4 to 5 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Challenge yourself with scenic trails, reaching the highest Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu Region, Dingboche. Spectacular views of Ama Dablam await.
Day 9: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Trek time: 4 to 5 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Another day for acclimatization, offering short hike options like visiting the base of Dingboche Ri for excellent views of Mt Makalu.
Day 10: Dingboche to Lobuche
Trek time: 4 to 5 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Navigate through scenic terrain, passing through Thokla Pass and reaching Lobuche. Despite its simple appearance, the surrounding scenery is both beautiful and dramatic.
Day 11: Lobuche to Gorakshep (Afternoon hike to Basecamp)
Trek time: 6 to 7 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Embark on an exciting day! Reach Gorakshep, then hike to Kalapatthar for the best views of Everest. Alternatively, visit Everest Base Camp itself if weather conditions didn’t permit the previous day.
Day 12: Gorakshep to Pheriche (Morning Hike to EBC)
Trek time: 7 to 8 Hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Visit Kalapatthar or Everest Base Camp if not done earlier. Head to Pheriche, home to the Himalayan Rescue Association Clinic, offering insights into altitude-related health issues.
Day 13: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Trek time: 6 to 7 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Descend towards Namche Bazaar, enjoying the return of forests and greenery. A challenging yet rewarding day.
Day 14: Namche to Lukla
Trek time: 5 to 6 hours
Accommodation: Tea House
Bid farewell to the Himalayan mountains as you ascend to Lukla.
Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu (Flight)
Flight time: 35 to 40 minutes
Accommodation: Hotel
Fly back to Kathmandu, concluding your trek. Spend the day shopping before a farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 16: Departure
After breakfast, get a transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.

-Flight Delays: Lukla Airport is weather-dependent; flight delays are common. Plan for possible extra costs and obtain receipts for insurance claims.
-Visa Application: Apply for a 30-day stay visa on arrival
