Forest bathing to where it all began, the Kamweti trails.. forest bathing is the practice of simply being in the forest..slow walk through the forest to experience the calming and the restorative effect of the forest. Where better this to happen than on the slopes of Mt. Kenya.. using the rarely frequented elephant trails through one of the few remaining indigenous forests in the country. We start at Castle Lodge following the footsteps of an experienced guide telling the stories of the forest and the mountain and its mysteries.
The 21km trail will take you through the rainforest with a variety of tree and bird species. Through the Old Kamweti Forest station now Kamweti Camp, one of the Camp through this route to the various Mt. Kenya Peaks.
A detour on ascent will reward you with the Kamweti Fall as part of the Kathiba River. All through opportunities to just take in the forest atmosphere and literally bath in its beauty in awe.
