A favorite! Pangani is the home to our guide Hamisi, to many trees, sacred caves and a stunning seasonal river.
Join us early in the morning for a hike up the family hill, through small and a few steep paths through shamba and forest. Have a snack and some water at the breathtaking rocks at the river, which after many kilometers flows into Mtwapa Creek.

Clamber and climb over rocks and riverbeds back towards Pangani’s caves. After the 4kms of hiking we shall head into Hamisi’s indigenous forest and finish the morning in the cool and
powerful caves. Dramatic stalactite and stalagmite formations, bats, snails and rocks can be found here, as well as a noticeable presence of the ancestors.

Trip itinerary
6.00am departure from Kilifi (meeting point DTB next to Naivas)
7.00am start hike at Pangani
8.30am water break at the rocks in the river
11.30am leave Pangani for an estimated 12.30pm return to Kilifi.
